The Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff starrer War released yesterday after much hype and promotions. Directed by Siddharth Anand the film which also features Vaani Kapoor witnessed a wide release across 4000 screens in the domestic market. This coupled with the good rate of advance booking, that commenced five days before the film’s release, has ensured that War starts off on a good note.
In this box office report we take a look at the single day collections of War while comparing the same to previous releases that have recorded high collections. Raking in a massive Rs. 53.35 cr on its opening day War has managed to surpass the Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan that had collected Rs. 52.25 cr, and the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju that had collected Rs. 46.71 cr on its third day to become the second highest all-time single day grosser.
Apart from Thugs of Hindostan and Sanju, the Hrithik – Tiger starrer War has managed to record higher single day collections than certain other releases as well, like Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion that had collected Rs. 46.50 cr on its third, Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 45.53 cr on Day 3, Happy New Year that collected Rs. 45.53 cr on Day 1, Dangal that collected Rs. 42.41 cr on Day 3, Bharat that collected Rs. 42.30 cr on Day 1, Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion that collected Rs. 41 cr on Day 1, and Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion that collected Rs. 40.50 cr on Day 2.
Currently, facing little to no competition at the box office, War is expected to dominate the box office. If that wasn’t enough with an extended five day weekend, expectations are that the business of War will see immense growth as the days progress.
