The much talked about and keenly anticipated film War hit screens yesterday. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff the film which was directed by Siddharth Anand witnessed a wide release across 4000 screens in the domestic market. This massive release pattern, along with advance booking for the film which opened five days before its release, has ensured that War starts off on a thunderous note.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of War while comparing the same to Hrithik Roshan’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 53.35 cr on Day 1, War has managed out beat the business of Hrithik’s previous releases to become the actor’s highest opening day grosser till date. In fact, War has recorded better opening day figures than Hrithik’s previous films like Bang Bang that collected Rs. 27.54 cr, Krrish 3 that collected Rs. 25 cr, Agneepath that collected Rs. 23 cr, Super 30 that collected Rs. 11.83 cr, and Kaabil that had collected Rs. 10.43 cr.
As of now, with little competition coming in the form of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Joker in certain markets, War looks set to dominate the extended weekend. In fact, given the current trend and good spate of advance booking predictions state that the business of War could well cross the Rs. 100 cr mark in the next couple of days.
