Well, strange are the ways of Bollywood, beyond the comprehension of mere mortals like us. The entire industry is smirking at Ajay Devgan's efforts to prove Raju Chacha a hit. While he has produced and even ghost-directed the film, few people know that Ajay has played a huge financial gamble with Raju Chacha. To ensure that the real figures are not revealed, all Bombay Theatre owners have been instructed to ensure that the daily / BO collections of Raju Chacha are not divulged to anybody except Ajay Devgan himself. A spokesman for Ashish cinema, Chembur, Bombay, said, "We've been instructed to send collection figures in writing to Ajay Devgan's office and to not entertain telephone calls in this regard even if the caller identified himself as Ajay Devgan's man!" The trade media takes the figures released by the producers with a pinch of salt and verifies the details of BO at the cinemas itself. Ajay Devgan, especially, in past has been notorious of 'feeding' cinemas i.e. buying off all unsold tickets of the movie to make it appear houseful. A staffer at Shreyas cinema, Ghatkopar, Bombay, on being asked for collections of Raju Chacha mid-week by a trade paper reporter, queried, "Code-word?" Code-word for decoding the box-office fate of Raju Chacha? Yeah, it may be a kid's film, but then how low can one stoop to? The trade media reports clearly indicate that Raju Chacha has run out of steam. The film's collections are dropping. Otherwise, Ajay's office wouldn't have had to take pains of finalizing code-words for each cinema. Raju Chacha, however, is doing a bit alright in East Punjab.
