Ramu plans film on Veerappan

Here comes another film from the Varma Camp and needless to say the theme is hatke. The story revolves around a henchman of the famous Indian sandalwood smuggler Veerappan. Ram Gopal Varma came across the idea while he was reading a book on Veerappan titled The Untold Story written by journalist Sunaad Raghuram. A chapter in the book called The Grand Plan narrates a true story about three people of which one man supplies food and other necessary stuff to the Veerappan troupe. The other two persuade him to reveal Veerappans whereabouts to the police and gain the reward thats on his head. In the process of catching the smuggler, 43 people die. Thats the crux of this docu-drama devoid of songs. The film will star Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav and one more guy. Incidentally Ram Gopal Varma directed a forest adventure film titled Jungle (2000) loosely inspired on Veerappans life, which also starred the same actors.
