"I have always believed that human determination and truth will ultimately prevail over violence and oppression!"...His Holiness Dalai Lama

Unfortunately, it took a carnage like this to bring us all together, many innocent lives lost, many martyrs blood slained...but I suddenly notice a huge change in the city of Mumbai and the attitude of all Mumbaikars! People have become more tolerant towards each other and much more helpful. Night before last, when I was with my family and was stuck in a major traffic jam in one of the back lanes of Juhu (close to the Juhu Army Officers' Institute) with 20 wedding receptions, towards one hospital on that lane the cars could not even move one foot. Suddenly, we heard sirens of an ambulance. Despite the fact that people had been getting edgy with the 1 hour long jam, they actually made sincere efforts to move their car at least by 1 inch to make way for the emergency ambulance! That's not all; some people actually got off their cars and manually moved some wrongly parked cars out of the way to make way for this ambulance. Then came icing on the cake for the first time cops also arrived in no time to help disband the traffic much faster.

"If we have to change the situation in our country, we have to begin by changing ourselves first" ... Karan

So it's nice to see a change around even though minute. On my way to Film City and various shooting locations, not only have I seen 'nakabandis', but also proper protocol checks and cops in proper uniforms with bulletproof vests (still from the ancient vest lot though). It's good to feel protected (hopefully I am right), and then, it truly dawned upon me that it is the enemy who can truly teach us to practice the virtues of compassion and tolerance.

I was practically giving up on all my moral science chapters in school but have definitely changed my mind since 26 Nov (at least when it comes to Mumbaikars, the attitude towards each other and the people's well being). At the end of the day, we are all the same in wanting happiness and also in wanting to avoid the sufferings. And today, we have started fighting for our own rights and for our own happiness. We will keep raising questions...The politicians will be under constant gunfire of the public rage. But I truly hope that good results come out of it, for the question 'Who is the real villain': The politician or the system of governance? Yet again, I urge the people to continue sticking together and not let this fire fizzle out. We simply 'HAVE' to ask and in our current case 'DEMAND' what our rights. This is the time for all of us, no matter where in the world we are…to stick together and also to be strong in mind and strong in heart. However, despite the shock of last couple of days, we cannot let anger rule our minds as it will destroy the wisdom that we need as the biggest weapon to combat the aggression of the people who want to scare us with terror and the system of governance which is majorly challenged.

I have not enough words to praise the extreme professionalism of the armed forces and have run out of words to truly honour the courageous sacrifice of Major Unnikrishnan and Commando Gajendra. Also, on behalf of all the people of the film industry, I would like to salute the parents of Major Unnikrishnan.

Dear Mr. K Unnikrishnan and Mrs. Dhanalakhsmiji, I know there is nothing in the world that can compensate the loss of your brave son. You have given us a loan...the loan of your son's blood that we shall not forget.

Dear parents, we salute your courage and conviction, at this time of your great loss. We honour this brave officer and will not let go his sacrifice go waste.

The following is something that I saw written on a soldier's grave in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.

"When you go home tell them about us and say....for your tomorrow we gave our today!"

(With tears in my eyes and pain in my heart, I sign off...)

Celina Jaitly
She is one woman with whom you can associate absolute professionalism and no-nonsense attitude, and the one word that you just cannot associate with her is ‘plastic’ as everything about her is just natural. She is none other than Celina Jaitly, the name whom Bollywood looks upto with utmost respect, thanks to her ever-ready-to-help-anyone-in-distress nature. Hailing from a family of illustrious army men, punctuality and discipline comes naturally to this killer bombshell!

In a world where being homosexual or any connections with the said community is considered to be a crime of the highest order, Celina is one iron-lady who openly participated in India’s first gay parade. Celina, who started creating waves since her debut film Jaanasheen itself. What followed after that were her splendid performances in other films like Apna Sapna Money Money, Golmaal Returns etc…, which went onto consolidate her position in the industry.

Bollywood Hungama is really proud to have this gem-of-a-person to be blogging with us, a place where the Greek Goddess Celina Jaitley will personally answer all your questions and also her take on issues of concern!
