Has anyone made a pass on you? Any crushes... "Anyone is bad. There were many (laughs). I had my own crushes as well but nothing really materialised ever. I just wanted to be this good girl in school and college. I am not even linked with anybody from the film industry which is a boon. No gossips too. Not being in any sort of controversy is good. But I'm waiting for my passes now (laughs)."
Do you think directors like Srinivas Bhashyam bring a breath of fresh air to Hindi cinema? "Yes they do because they think different from others. He has got it in him. He has the potential to get what he wants from every actor. He understands the budgeting of the film which is so very crucial. No where while filming the producer or the actors have complained about flow of funds. He is a sensible director and is a grounded too. It's not an easy job directing so many actors in one film. He is very possessive about his characters."
What do you mean by possessive? "When I went to see him, he said that my character is something that I've already done in my South Indian films but he wanted me to play a South Indian with a proper Hindi accent and not a South touch to it. He wanted someone who is born in Mumbai but is a South Indian by origin. These were the ingredients of a good, mature and a possessive director."
New comer Sadaa Sayed is nervous and nursing a hangover. Now that your debut film Love Khichdi is releasing today, you better be nervous and have some hangover girl. I too am nursing a hangover. Now that is bizarre, isn't it? Hangover of not meeting Sadaa is hitting me hard. So hard that after she sent her profile pictures via email, my eyes popped out. We were supposed to meet up and cook some Khichdi but were left short of the necessary ingredients. Anyway, so we decided to cook it up over the phone. Miss Sayed is enigmatic and it is exactly the word that seems to describe her at the moment. One of the many 2009 debutantes to hit the Bollywood brigade, Sadaa pulls up her socks and gets ready to stir up the love recipe in this exclusive tete-a-tete with UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent Devansh Patel.
Too many girls are spoiling the cook here… "Randeep Hooda is already a spoilt brat. So there is nothing that girls can do to spoil him more. He plays a flirt in the film and tries to impress every woman he comes across in his life. Such a flirtatious role (laughs)."
Twenty films plus down South but first Bollywood film… "I've done films with great directors like Shankar down South. But I am really excited about Love Khichdi because it marks my Bollywood debut. Secondly, because it's a very interesting concept which Indian cinema hasn't tapped into. It's humorous in its own way and has a satirical quality of its own too.
You think you'll break even in Bollywood? "Of course yes. First of all, I'm not a South Indian. I don't come from the South. I'm a Mumbai girl and speak fluent Hindi. It's going to be much easier for me to pursue Hindi cinema because in the South, I had to cope up with a lot of things like the language, the people, etc. It was very difficult not being a South Indian. Here in Bollywood, I have arrived and I'm 100 percent sure I'll break even."
Are you a good cook too? "I'm a good cook. Though I don't cook at home. Sometimes I do cook for my parents. They love it."
What would you cook for your boyfriend... "The idea to cook for your boyfriend is romantic but I wouldn't cook for him. I don't want him to run away that fast (laughs). I'm sure he will love the food I cook for him but for that you need to get me my boyfriend. I don't have one."

Have you been in a 'khichdi' situation before? "Oh, many times. It happens especially while sorting out the dates for my films. It becomes messy. You then wonder whether you're in the right profession or not. It gives you a lot of stress."
Will your unconventional look stop you from doing glamorous roles? "Not at all. My debut film down South had me play a village girl. That did not stop me from doing a glamorous role in Shankar's film who spends more than twenty five crore for every project of his. He cast me as the only female lead in his film which had a lot of glamour quotient. It depends on you on how you want to be categorised. My role in Love Khichdi looks unconventional but my second Bollywood film will see me play a model. How bizarre, isn't it? That answers your question."
What's your recipe for love? "I think the basic ingredient which goes to make a lovely Love Khichdi is a nice tadka of trust. Then comes the caring bit, the love, loyalty and understanding."
