The Tom Holland starrer SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME was released today to an overwhelming response. The film which has been one of the most anticipated releases, saw advance booking the likes of which were seen with the previous MCU films AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and AVENGERS: END GAME. Given the massive spate of advance booking and hype surrounding the film, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME was expected to take off on a flying start.
Reports suggest that the film has seen an occupancy rate of nearly 75% within the Indian market in the morning and noon shows, which features 3264 screens. Released in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu, Sony Pictures Entertainment is currently looking to add more screens to satiate the audience demand. Coming to the advance bookings SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME enjoyed, statistics from various multiplex chains claimed that the film managed to sell 5 lakh tickets worth Rs. 16.50 crores in just 40 hours! If that wasn’t all, certain locations have added more shows on a daily basis with some starting as early as 4 AM.
Given this immense hype, the positive reviews, the massive advance booking rate, and the wide screen count SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME looks set to enjoy a moneymaking weekend. In fact, trade estimates predict that the film could well see its opening day collections in the Rs. 30 cr. range or even higher.
