After last week’s solo release DISHOOM, this week we see three varied films viz. THE LEGEND OF MICHAEL MISHRA, BUDHIA SINGH- BORN TO RUN and FEVER up for release. But will either of the three new releases that have featured low key promotions manage to post decent figures over the weekend is the question.
Reports suggest that none of the three new releases have got off on a good note. In fact occupancy rates during morning shows have been pegged as low as 10%. Another factor that has contributed to a low key turn out at theatres is the incessant rains that have been lasing the city since morning. On the other hand, this week we also see two Hollywood films, SUICIDE SQUAD and JASON BOURNE hitting screens, both films that come with immense expectations and hype have opened on a better note than their Bollywood counterparts and are expected to pick up as the weekend progresses.
On the whole, with the new Bollywood releases underperforming, last week’s release DISHOOM that continues to run with 25% occupancy rates, is expected to have another week’s run at the box office, but at a diminished rate.
