O’Romeo is all set to hit a half century this week. The film opened at Rs. 9.01 crores and then saw good growth on Saturday. Post that, it was always expected that Sunday would be basically a consolidation day since Valentine’s Day had already fallen on Saturday and then there was this big India vs Pakistan T20 match last evening. All of this means that as long as collections stayed similar to Saturday, it was going to be decent enough.
As a result, Rs. 11 crores came on Sunday and that has pushed the weekend numbers to Rs. 34.51 crores. If one compares this with Shahid Kapoor recent starrers, then Deva lifetime of Rs. 32.07 crores have already been crossed in quick time and the weekend is also better than that of Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya which stood at Rs. 26.52 crores after starting at Rs. 7.02 crores. In fact, the numbers are closer to its Week One collections of Rs. 41.97 crores.
That said, this Valentine Day 2024 release of Shahid Kapoor had pretty much doubled its Week One score to a lifetime of Rs. 80.88 crores. That would be the first target of O’Romeo, which is to cross Rs. 80 crores lifetime and for that stability during the weekdays would be key.
