The Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh released yesterday across 3123 screens in the domestic market. Directed by Sandeep Vanga the film which is a remake of the south film Arjun Reddy opened on a high note. With positive reviews expectations are that the business of the film will see immense growth over the weekend.
In this box office analysis we take a look at the opening day collections of Kabir Singh while comparing the same to previous releases of 2019. Collecting Rs. 20.21 cr on its opening day the Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh has managed to become the 4th highest opening day grosser of 2019 surpassing the business of previous releases like Gully Boy that collected Rs. 19.40 cr, Total Dhamaal that collected Rs. 16.50 cr, and Student Of The Year 2 that collected Rs. 12.06 cr, De De Pyaar De that collected Rs. 10.41 cr, Uri – The Surgical Strike that collected Rs. 8.20 cr, and Luka Chuppi that collected Rs. 8.01 cr.
On the other hand the business of Kabir Singh does not manage to surpass certain other releases like Bharat that collected Rs. 42.30 cr, Kalank that collected Rs. 21.60 cr, and Kesari that collected Rs. 21.06 cr.
Now all that remains to be seen is, whether Kabir Singh goes on to become one of the highest opening weekend grosser of 2019.
