Shah Rukh Khan made a terrific comeback this year to the movies with Pathaan in January. The film became the highest grossing Bollywood movie by far. Hence, there are similar expectations from SRK’s next Jawan, which is all set to release worldwide on September 7. The exciting trailer of the movie, which released yesterday, hinted that that the film has all the ingredients to make it another box office success for the star. This is also indicated from the flying advance booking start the film has taken.
As reported by the veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his official Twitter page, Jawan has sold as many as 41,500 tickets already till 11:45 am today. The ticket sales were started in the country just some time back. To break up this number, the movie has sold 32,750 tickets in PVR + Inox outlets and 8,750 tickets in Cinepolis outlets.
One needs to note that these are the numbers only for the first day and only in the two biggest multiplex chains of India. If we consider the many other multiplex chains and single screen theatres across India, the number is sure to be much higher.
Directed by Atlee Kumar and produced under SRK’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, among others. Composer Anirudh Ravichander has given music for the film.
