The news spread like wildfire claiming Brahmastra a big manmade disaster, though eventually, market experts claim that the reason for the drop was much beyond Brahmastra. And now, the unexpected has happened to put the vindictive news writers in a state of shock.
On Monday morning, PVR and INOX shares jumped by 4 percent and 4.75 percent respectively raising the share prices by Rs. 75 and Rs. 22 each. The market capitalization for PVR and Inox too has seen a spike due to the positive sentiment in the market. The market capitalization has gone up by Rs. 450 crores on Monday and this has also instilled hope on the future of the exhibition sector in India.
There were various theories that suggested the end of the cinema business in India, but the way in which the audience has embraced Brahmastra this weekend indicates that cinema is here to stay and it's a matter of the right theatrical experience. For those unaware, Brahmastra has shattered all records at the box office in its opening weekend. The movie has collected approximately Rs. 109.50 crore nett with the Hindi version and added another Rs. 14 crore with the South dubbed version.
The three-day weekend of Brahmastra stands at Rs. 123 crore, which is a record for Bollywood film. The test for Brahmastra begins from today, but the trend so far suggests that the film might just sail through at the box office in the long run.
