The Indra Kumar directorial Total Dhamaal released last weekend. Being the third instalment in the Dhamaal series, Total Dhamaal that features Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffery and others opened on a high note across 3700 screens in the domestic market.
In this box office analysis, we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Total Dhamaal while comparing the same to previous releases of 2019. Collecting a stunning Rs. 62.40 cr, Total Dhamaal has managed to surpass the collections of the Kangana Ranaut film Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi that had collected Rs. 41.35 cr to become the second highest opening weekend grosser of 2019. Though occupying the top slot is still the Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy that had collected Rs. 72.45 cr, the business of Total Dhamaal has managed to record better collections than other releases like Uri - The Surgical Strike that collected Rs. 35.73 cr, The Accidental Prime Minister that collected Rs. 11.90 cr, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga that collected Rs. 11.83 cr, and Thackeray that collected Rs. 10.50 cr.
As of now, with Total Dhamaal still running to packed houses all that remains to be seen is whether the film manages to become one of the highest grossers of 2019.
