The Tiger Shroff – Hrithik Roshan starrer War has been one of the most talked about films this year, and as the release date nears the makers of War are leaving no stone unturned to ensure its success. In fact, we had earlier reported that the advance booking for War opened five days in advance, on Friday, September 27, ensuring the film gets a good start at the box office. Now, we hear that the advance booking of War has witnessed a good spate of ticket sales, with reports claiming that approximately Rs. 7.10 cr worth of tickets have been sold for the film’s shows on Day 1.
If that wasn’t enough, the said sale was recorded within the first 72 hours of advance booking opening. Going by these reports, the three major multiple chains within the country, viz. PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis have apparently sold close to 1.5 lakh tickets for the film’s opening day. This sky high sales number is expected to further increase with Carnival chain of cinemas, which were unavailable, pushing it further to approximately 1.7 lakh ticket sales.
While the advance booking for War within the first 72 hours of opening has been incredible, the icing on the cake is the fact that the film still has 48 hours till release. With Tuesday, October 2 being a nation holiday, trade estimates state that the advance booking for Day 1 could well see Rs. 22+ cr coming in at the box office.
This good rate of advance bookings coupled with a holiday release, and an extended five day weekend the business of War looks set to rival the biggest money spinners of the year. Currently predictions state that the Tiger Shroff – Hrithik Roshan starrer War is looking at an opening day collection within the Rs. 45+ cr range.
