Yash Raj Films is all set to enjoy the success of their biggest grosser ever. So far, the record has stood with Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 which had brought in Rs. 284.27 crore. Now Salman Khan's Sultan is challenging that as it brought in around Rs. 3.72 crore more in Tuesday and currently stands at the Rs. 271.03 crore mark. The manner in which the Ali Abbas Zafar film is currently performing at the Box Office, it should go past Dhoom 3 on Saturday or Sunday.
The film is an All Time Blockbuster already and now it is a matter of how much how much further does it go from here. Salman Khan has already moved on to his next, Tubelight, while Anushka Sharma is wrapping up Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Ali Abbas Zafar is yet to announce his next, though indications are that this film too would be with Yash Raj Films.
Great Grand Masti has pretty much acknowledged its fate in the recently held press conference that had a grim looking cast, director and production team confess how piracy has hit it hard. That's true as well because though the merits of the film would have prevented it from entering the Rs. 100 crore club, at least the initial would have allowed it some sort of respectable collections that would have been much greater than Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 and Mastizaade - other films belonging to the same genre. In this case here, the film didn't even get a chance (with collections just about crossing the 10 crore mark), which is very disappointing for everyone associated with it as well as the industry which would have otherwise at least gained some sort of an earner.
