The Raj Kumar Gupta directed film Raid released a week ago. Starring Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla, the film after opening on a slow note saw good growth in business over its opening weekend. In the ensuing weekdays as well, Raid has performed well at the box office, continuing to remain stable in terms of collections.
In this box office report, we take a look at the opening week collections of Raid while comparing the same to Ajay Devgn’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 63.05 cr, Raid ranks as Ajay Devgn’s seventh highest opening week grosser, surpassing the collections of the actor’s previous releases like Golmaal 3 that collected Rs. 62.19 cr, Satyagraha that collected Rs. 55.43 cr, Singham that collected Rs. 51.25 cr, and Action Jackson that had collected Rs. 45.16 cr.
On the other hand though, the opening week business of Raid does not manage to out beat the collections of Ajay Devgn’s other releases like Golmaal Again that collected Rs. 136.07 cr, Singham Returns that collected Rs. 112.68 cr, Son of Sardaar that collected Rs. 83.25 cr, Shivaay that collected Rs. 70.41 cr, Bol Bachchan that collected Rs. 66.72 cr, and Baadshaho that collected Rs. 64.14 cr.
As of now, though Raid continues to run in theatres, the business of the film is likely to be affected due to the release of the Rani Mukerji starrer Hichki and the Hollywood flick Pacific Rim: Uprising hitting screens.
