The Salman Khan starrer Race 3 which is the third instalment in the popular Race franchise released last week on Friday. Directed by Remo Dsouza the film has opened on a stellar note managing to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark in just three days of its release. If that wasn’t all, collecting Rs. 106.47 cr Race 3 has managed to surpass the business of Ek Tha Tiger to rank as Salman Khan’s fourth highest opening weekend grosser.
In this box office report we compared the opening weekend collections of Race 3 to Salman Khan’s previous releases. Though the business of Race 3 has been good, it does not manage to outperform Salman’s previous releases like Sultan that collected Rs. 180.36 cr, Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 114.93 cr and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that collected Rs. 129.77 cr. But on the other hand the business of Race does out shine the collections of Salman Khan’s other releases like Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs. 102.6 cr, Bodyguard that collected Rs. 88.75 cr, Kick that collected Rs. 83.83 cr, Dabangg 2 that collected Rs. 65 cr, Tubelight that collected Rs. 64.77 cr, Jai Ho that collected Rs. 60.68 cr, Dabangg that collected Rs. 48.50 cr, and Ready that had collected Rs. 40.65 cr.
As of now, with Race 3 still running expectation are that the film will continued to draw in the audience. However, the film does face the disadvantage that it has only two weeks run at the box office to maximise profit especially since the Rajkumar Hirani directorial Sanju is slated to hit screens on June 29.
