Earlier this month, we saw the release of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the film which released on April 15, opened to mixed response. However theoverall performance of the film at the box office has been highly tepid.
Now after Fan has just concluded its second weekend at the box office, we take a look at film's collections while comparing them to Shah Rukh Khan's previous releases. Collecting Rs. 79.25
cr till date, it is evident that Fan will no longer enjoy the status SRK's previous releases have shared - that of being the part of the prestigious Rs. 100 crore club.
While SRK's entry into Rs. 100 crore club started with Ra.One, the actor's subsequent releases went on to attain this much coveted benchmark. However, Fan has become SRK's first film which has failed to enter Rs. 100 crore club after his 2010 release My Name is Khan. If that wasnt all the overall business of Fan has shown a substantial decline in its second weekend. In fact while the first weekend recorded collections of Rs. 52.35 cr Weekend 2 was a meagre Rs. 7.75 cr, a decline of 85.20% in business which is alarming.
