The signs were right there on Friday itself when the collections didn't really hit the roof. By the time the day came to a close the audience word of mouth had already started spreading. Since it veered mainly towards the lower side, the challenge was sustenance rather than growth on Saturday. This is exactly what happened as the footfalls stayed flat for the Imtiaz Ali directed romantic musical drama.
The film brought in Rs. 15 crore more and this is definitely not the kind of number that Shah Rukh Khan would have had in mind for Day Two when he planned the release date as 4th August. That said, this is a reality now and the results are there to be seen as two day collections for the film are just Rs. 30.25 crore. Now Shah Rukh Khan has indeed seen better days as just the Friday collections of his Chennai Express were Rs. 33.10 crore which tells the tale.
Of course, Imtiaz Ali would still get his biggest weekend ever as Tamasha had collected Rs. 38.23 crore and this number would be crossed today itself by the time the morning shows are through. Still, when you have Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma with you, a much better feat is expected, something which is not quite turning out to be the case for Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Until and unless today turns out to be really big for the film and it manages to cross the Rs. 20 crore mark, things would be really bleak for Jab Harry Met Sejal in days to come.
