Yesterday we saw the release of the much talked about and highly anticipated Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer Airlift. The film which is
based on the true story of one of the largest human evacuations in recent history wowed not just the critics but the audience too.
In this box office report, we take a look at the Opening Day collections of Airlift while comparing them to that of Akshay Kumar's previous releases.
Surprisingly, despite the tremdous hype surrounding the film, Airlift ranks as Akshay's eight highest opening day grosser collecting Rs. 12.35 cr. while the
film fares better than the actor's previous releases like Holiday that collected Rs. 12.18 cr, and Its Entertainment that collected Rs. 11.57 cr, it
fails to surpass the opening day collections of his other films like Singh Is Bliing, Brothers, Rowdy Rathore, Boss and Housefull 2.
However, with the Republic Day holiday just around the corner and the patriotic wave sweeping the nation, what's left to be seen is whether the film's overall
collections surpass that of the actor's previous releases.
