Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has held itself quite well in the second weekend as well. The film is seeing good screenings across multiplexes and that ensured that Rs. 4 crore mark was comfortably surpassed on the second Friday. With Rs.4.56 crore more coming in, the film currently stands at Rs. 84.75 crore. A good hold has also meant that the film would now comfortably go past the Rs. 100 crore mark. In the process, it would also challenge the Barfi!’s total of Rs. 112 crore to become the second highest grosser of Ranbir Kapoor‘s career. Considering the fact that this feat would be achieved after a series of underperforming films, it is huge!
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani – Rs. 188.92 crore
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Rs. 115 crore+ (expected)
Barfi! – Rs. 112 crore
Raajneeti – Rs. 93 crore
Tamasha – Rs. 68 crore
Rockstar – Rs. 67.5 crore
Shivaay has been keeping steady and while there was a dip in collections on Friday, there would be a jump again on Saturday and Sunday since family audiences, especially in interiors, would be back again over the weekend. With Rs. 4.61 crore being added to the collections and the total currently standing at Rs. 75.02 crore, the Ajay Devgn starrer is now counting its steps towards the 100 crore mark. In fact today it will achieve another feat as it would go past the lifetime total of Ajay Devgn’s last release Drishyam [77 crore] in eight days flat.
Both the films have six open days ahead for itself with no new release as competition. On the coming Friday, there are six new releases and they would eat up a substantial count of screens. Hence, they need to accumulate as much moolah as they can in days to come. A combined total of 200 crore between both the films is a definite possibility though!
