After seeing very good jump on Saturday when collections moved up to Rs. 21.75 crores, Bhooth Bangla did even better on Sunday. The film was eyeing a number in the vicinity of Rs. 25 crores and it not just managed that but then also went a bit higher. As much as Rs. 25.60 crores came in and that’s a further positive since growth has happened over Saturday which had anyways jumped quite well over Friday.

This kind of trending so far bit just suggests that the audience word of mouth is largely positive but also that weekdays would stay good as well. There is no competition whatsoever now for the film because first and foremost there was no new release. Secondly, Dhurandhar The Revenge, despite still continuing to do well in the fifth weekend with a score of over Rs. 10 crores, is finally the second choice of the audience. As it is, those who catch their films early in theatres have already watched it and hence the pent up desire for last four weeks to catch something new at the big screen is now being fulfilled by this Priyadarshan horror comedy.
The film has now collected Rs. 65.25 crores, and the target is to now cross Rs. 100 crores in a jiffy. Post that the next big milestone would be to cross the lifetime business of Akshay Kumar’s last release Jolly LLB 3, a franchise offering. That film had done a lifetime business of Rs. 113.59 crores and that should be comfortably crossed in the second weekend itself.
