Ajay Devgn's action-packed entertainer, Bholaa, has taken a decent start at the box office in India, though the collections were aided by the benefit of Ram Navmi Holiday in the mass belts. According to early estimates, Bholaa has collected in the range of Rs. 9.50 to 10.75 crores on its opening day with non-national chains running the show.
The start in the morning shows was slow however the film gained momentum from 12 noon onwards and the holiday benefit came into the picture in smaller centers. Given the start, it’s a long way to go for Bholaa and the film needs to show strong legs over the extended weekend period and then showcase a good hold on Monday to have a healthy run at the box office. It’s the next 4 days that will decide if the film can hit Rs. 100 crores or not.
The film has received generally positive reviews. The film is an official remake of Tamil Hit, Kaithi, and stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role of Bholaa. It has been released on about 4000 screens in India.
