Badhaai Do couldn’t do much on the weekdays of the second week as it was riding primarily on the power of the weekends. The first weekend was Rs. 7.82 crores and then the second was Rs. 4.29 crores. That’s Rs. 12.11 crores out of 16.89 crores that the film collected in the first 10 days, which shows how contribution from the weekdays has been minimal.
Hence, it was not surprising to see weekdays dipping again. There were some chances for the film to find certain footfalls in the third weekend but then Gangubai Kathiawadi has arrived and that has proved to be a spanner in the plans for the Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer.
The film has so far collected Rs. 19.50 crores* and there os something to look forward to for director Harshvardhan Kulkarni as the film has managed to surpass the lifetime collections of his 2015 release Hunterrr (Rs. 17 crores). Overall though the film hasn’t done well and one just hopes that now at least with Gangubai Kathiawadi, the industry is back on its winning ways.
