Bachchhan Paandey Box Office: Ranks as Akshay Kumar’s 18th highest opening weekend grosser :Bollywood Box Office

The much talked about and highly promoted Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey was released last week on Friday. Despite the immense promotions the film did not really take off to a flying start, but did manage to draw in Rs. 13.25 cr on Day 1. Following this, Bachchhan Paandey that faced immense competition from the previous release The Kashmir Files faced an uphill task at the box office.

In this box office report, we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Bachchhan Paandey while comparing the same to Akshay Kumar’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 37.25 cr Bachchhan Paandey ranks as Akshay’s 18^th highest opening weekend grosser. In fact, the film does not manage to surpass the business of Akshay’s previous releases including films like Gabbar is Back that collected Rs. 39.41 cr, and Tees Maar Khan that collected Rs. 38.25 cr. However, the film that did face immense competition at the box office does manage to perform better than certain other releases.

Currently, Bachchhan Paandey continues to run in theatres, however predictions of the film’s business over its opening week do not paint a rosy picture. In fact, trade states that the film will find the road rather steep over its opening week, relying heavily on strong word of mouth.
