The Ranveer Singh starrer 83, directed by Kabir Khan hit screens last week on Friday. After opening on a good note, the business of the film stumbled at the box office, managing to draw in just under Rs. 50 cr by the end of its first weekend. Now on its first Monday the collections of 83 seem to have slipped further.
Drawing in Rs. 7.29 cr on Day 4, the collections of 83 have slipped into single digit domain within its first week running. Currently the total collections of the film are pegged at Rs. 54.29 cr. This drop in collections spells a rather bleak future for the overall business of the film. Coupled with this drop, is the news that certain states are likely to follow Delhi in downing theatre shutters again on account of the rise in Covid-19 cases.
In such case, 83 will find itself at the deep end without a lifejacket. Trade predictions as well do not really paint a favourable image for the overall collections of the film.
