Overseas: ‘Welcome’ big, ‘T.Z.P.’ picks up

WELCOME has fetched the biggest start ever for an Akshay Kumar starrer in U.K. The opening weekend collections are mind-blowing and when compared to the other openers of 2007, it's the second biggest opener of this year, after OM SHANTI OM.

On the other hand, TAARE ZAMEEN PAR has had a slow start in U.K., but if you look at the day-wise collections, you will realize that the business is rock-steady. In the U.S., the opening is quite impressive, keeping in mind the fact that it's not an out-and-out Aamir Khan starrer and also it's a serious theme.
