Shivaay held well in the second week to bring in around Rs. 23 crore more. The film's total currently stands at Rs. 93.4 crore, though it may have touched the Rs. 95 crore mark if not for the demonetization. The film primarily has its audiences at the single screens and especially at interiors. Considering the fact that this is the sector which has been hit most by the scrapping of existing Rs. 500/1000 currency as the usage of credit card, especially for watching movies, is bare minimum, the film has seen a decline in collections during the last couple of days.
Fortunately for the film though, there hasn't been a major single screen release this week as Rock On 2 is primarily for the multiplexes. As a result, the Ajay Devgn starrer has continued to find good visibility in theaters during the third week as well. However, considering the fact that 'junta' at large would be settling things on the home front than think much about entertainment at least in next couple of weeks to come, one can't expect huge numbers to come in from this point on.
Nonetheless, Shivaay is inching towards the Rs. 100 crore mark and that would be one milestone that Ajay would be happy to cross.
