London Mayor facilitates Bollywood

The city of London has always had a special place in Hindi films with a majority of films like Cheeni Kum, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, Namastey London, and even the latest release Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal having been shot in the British capital. Apart from films, many of our favorite daily soaps have special episodes which show the picturesque locales of London. Needless to say, the fact that Hindi films are huge craze in the city of London among both, the desis and Brits.
Now with the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, in the city for a visit, it was but obvious that he would also be meeting up with the Who’s Who of Bollywood.
In order to further encourage and facilitate the shooting of Hindi films and T.V. serials in the British capital, the Mayor of London along with the London film producer’s guild have set up ‘Film London’ – a one stop shop for all shooting needs.
Superstar of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, who himself has a close association with the city of London , having shot many films there, was present at the signing of the new agreement between Film London and Film and Television Producers Guild of India.
Let us hope that this new step would simplify shooting procedures for our film and serial makers in the British capital.
