UTV produces Majid Majjidi's Indian venture

Iranian filmmaker Majid Majjidi known for his films dealing with human emotions and dilemmas has tied up with UTV motion picture’s Spot Boy to start with his new venture in India.
Majidi, the director of films like Baran, and The Colour of Paradise and the winner of 30 awards at international festivals said that he had always wanted to make a film in the East, especially in India given its many cultural similarities with Iran. When UTV offered him to become involved in a project, he accepted because he felt it would be a great opportunity to take new strides in international artistic and humanist cinema.
Having all praises for Majid Majjidi, the Senior Executive Vice President Distribution and Syndication of UTV motion pictures Spot Boy, Siddharth Roy says, “Always quite keen to work with him, we admired his style of making films which exhibit human conditions which are pretty much applicable across the culture. We got in touch with Mr. Majid Majjidi and liked his ideas which he is all set to roll now.”
The film’s star cast, which is yet to be finalized, will be Indian, with both Indian and Iranian crew working behind the cameras.
