Warner Bros. Pictures announced its first Hindi production and that is Ramesh Sippy’s Made in China, which will be produced by Mukesh Talreja and Rohan Sippy.
Starring India’s top notch action-comedy star Akshay Kumar, the film is directed by Nikhil Advani for producers RSE Orion Films. Keeping them company is supermodel turned actress Deepika Padukone, along with Chinese actors. The film has been written by Shridhar Raghavan (Khakee, Bluffmaster, Apaharan) This marks the first time any Indian crew has crossed the Great Wall!
From the hustle bustle of Mumbai bazaars to the hutongs of Beijing, the electric energy of Shanghai and sheer breathtaking Chinese landscapes, Made in China chronicles the lunatic adventures of a hapless simpleton cook from Mumbai.
Commenting on the same Ramesh Sippy said “India & China have captured the public imagination like no other countries at this point in time. We're making a film that marries together the best of their filmmaking traditions- which merges Indian style dance and masala with Chinese Kungfu and Beijing Opera. And there could be no better partner than Warner to help us reach out to audiences worldwide.”
Blaise Fernandes, Country Manager for Warner Bros. Pictures (India) says, “We are excited to be a part of this production because of the outstanding talent that is associated with it”.
Nikhil Advani will be helming an action film for the first time. He has previously directed the hit drama-musicals Salaam-E-Ishq & Kal Ho Na Ho.
Ramesh Sippy’s production company has in the past produced films such as Bluffmaster! & Taxi No. 9211.
The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
