Madhavan turns director

Southern Superstar Madhavan is all set to don the director’s cap with a Hindi-Tamil bilingual. The talented actor has already completed the script and the film is slated to go on floors from early 2008.The story is about a married couple who have to face a crisis in their lives.
As far as the leading lady is concerned Madhavan wanted his Alai Payuthe co-star Shalini. But now he is looking for a serious yet innocent actress from Bollywood as Shalini has retired.
Madhavan claims that the film is a deep love story just like his debut hit by Mani Ratnam- Alai Payuthe. It was fate that Madhavan turned director because initially Pratap Pothen was supposed to direct the film. But things didn’t work out so now Maddy is going to take up the challenge. He hopes to do his best as he has learnt direction from top-class film-makers like Mani Ratnam and Nishikanth Kamath.
