Daler fans burn effigies of Yash Chopra Click here to add this article to My Clips

The Daler Mehendi – Yash Chopra war has taken a new turn. Fans of Daler Mehendi are burning posters and effigies of Yash Chopra as a demonstration of protest against the filmmaker who has infuriated Mehendi. The whole story started when Daler Mehendi filed a case against Yash Raj Films claiming damages. Reportedly the singer had recorded a song for Yash Raj Films’upcoming Jhoom Barabar Jhoom but his voice was later replaced by Shankar Mahadevan on the cassettes and CDs of the film. However, sources at Yash Raj claim that Daler was informed about this move.

Daler has not only filed a case of criminal breach of trust against Yash Chopra but perhaps has also instigated his fans so much so that they are demonstrating their protest against Yash Chopra by burning his posters and effigies.

What surprises us is the fact that such protests are being made against a filmmaker whose banner, in the past few years, has redefined Bollywood in a large way and has put in on a global platform. The Yash Raj banner shares the best goodwill in the industry and is recognized as one of the most professional working environment. In its entire history, the banner had no argument with any person associated with them, forget having a dispute. So it naturally comes as a surprise when a singer like Daler Mehendi protests against the most respected filmmaker of the industry.

But what comes in as a bigger surprise is the means in which Daler is expressing his protest. While he used the legal way to express his protest by filing a suit, he could as well discourage his fans from the public demonstration of burning posters and effigies which is outright offensive and undoubtedly derogatory.

Of course such trivial ways will not affect an institution like Yash Chopra and just to substantiate that fact we at IndiaFM want to say that we are with you Mr. Yash Chopra.
