Friday saw the 63rd birthday of Vilasrao Deshmukh, Chief Minister of Maharashtra. But it turned out to be some celebration when a riot broke out in his constituency Latur over Bollywood babe Priyanka Chopra.

Apparently, Vilasrao’s son Amit along with a local organization had invited Priyanka to give out prizes for a cricket tournament held in honor of the chief minister. But things turned haywire when the crowd became unruly on seeing Priyanka and wanted to get a closer look of the actress.

The police was called in, lathis were flashed and slippers and stones pelted at each other. Priyanka was quickly rushed away from the place followed by Amit.

Reportedly, the Chief Minister who was in Goa said that it was a mad rush of college students and dismissed the incident by saying that it was a small incident and happened out of love for the actress than anything else.

However, the incident did not dampen the spirits of the Chief Minister and his family who celebrated his birthday in Goa by relaxing.
