Looks like Apoorva Lakhia is going places even before the release of his much talked-about Shootout At Lokhandwala this Friday. Besides the deal he has inked to make a big film on international espionage for Suniel Shetty and Ekta Kapoor in their first merger movie, Lakhia has also been signed by Ekta Kapoor for her Balaji Motion Pictures for another project to be produced solo by Ekta's company.
Currently busy touring with the Shootout… cast, Lakhia admits he's doing a film for Ekta Kapoor. "She probably liked what she saw in Shootout… and immediately invited me to direct a film for her."
Quite clearly Ekta's film with Lakhia will star her brother Tusshar Kapoor. "And why not?” Lakhia jumps to the Kapoors' defence. "I'd love to direct Tusshar any time. During Shootout… Tusshar and I became buddies. He isn't just a good actor but also a gem of a guy."
Reports are during the making of Shootout…. Lakhia and Kapoor bonded so closely that the others in the cast felt isolated. "Not true!”, Lakhia protests. "Tusshar and I did party and go to movies together. But we never excluded anyone. Everyone in the cast and crew was welcome. Now if some of them preferred to form their own little camps, I can't be blamed,” he ends with a wink.
