'Metro' first screening: Star-studded affair

It seemed like a mini premiere on Saturday night [5th May]. UTV and Shilpa Shetty jointly hosted the first screening of METRO for the crème de la crème of the film industry at the swanky Yash Raj Studios in Andheri. Shilpa had flown in from Australia the same morning and was expected to fly to London the very next day.
Accompanied by her parents and actress-sister Shamita, Shilpa along with UTV’s Ronnie Screwvala and Ram Mirchandani played perfect hosts, personally welcoming the select guests for the screening. Ramesh Sippy and wife Kiran Juneja, Javed Akhtar and wife Shabana Azmi, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and wife Anupama, Sanjay Khan and wife Zarine, David Dhawan, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Mukesh Bhatt, Prasoon Joshi, Kangana Ranaut, Atul Agnihotri and wife Alvira, Atul Kulkarni, designers Manish Malhotra and Rocky S, writer Niranjan Iyengar, Harun Mirza [Aziz Mirza’s son], Sujoy Ghosh, Sunil and Maya Alagh and music director Pritam were those invited for the first screening of this keenly awaited film.
Director Anurag Basu walked in late because “he was busy supervising the sub-titles for Overseas prints,” Ronnie Screwvala said.
