A few years ago, a number of producers shied from releasing their films in March because of the examination fever. But have a look at the line up of new releases in March this year. Despite the examination period as well as the World Cup cricket matches stationed in March, the month is choc-a-bloc with films and more films.
While EKLAVYA – THE ROYAL GUARD is releasing on 16th February, it’s likely to hold the playing time at theatres in March as well. HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. follows next and be rest assured that the management of multiplexes will embrace this film with open arms, thanks to the attractive promos.
NISHABD, NEHLLE PE DEHLLA, RED – THE DARK SIDE, BIG BROTHER, JUST MARRIED, WATER, 1971, DELHII HEIGHTS, HAT TRICK, NAMASTEY LONDON and THE NAMESAKE are the other keenly awaited films slated this month, but the question is, will there be enough theatres to accommodate so many films in one month?
Also, with the multiplexes reaping in big shares thanks to the number of shows they conduct every day, the first choice of a majority of films is to get as many shows as possible at multiplexes. And what if most of these films work at multiplexes [let’s hope the success ratio shines like 2006]? Will the forthcoming films still manage 8/10/12 shows every single day? And what happens at towns where there aren’t multiplexes but 6/7 theatres only?
