On Sunday, January 21, director Nikhil Advani addressed a bunch of aspiring filmmakers on independent cinema through an event organised by Baiscope at PVR cinemas, Juhu.

The event saw Nikhil addressing the audience about the nuances of independent cinema which included budgeting, financing, direction etcetera.

He also spoke about his upcoming film Salaam-E-Ishq which is releasing on Thursday, Jan 25. The film stars a variety of actors like Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, Vidya Balan and many more. Nikhil gave interesting insights about his film in regards to storyline and characters. Also he spoke about his foray into production. One of the films under his banner will be directed by Saurabh Narang who earlier made Vaastu Shastra.

He also took the audience the journey of his career which included working with Saeed Mirza, Aziz Mirza and Sudhir Mishra to his entry in Dharma productions and also the exit after making Kal Ho Naa Ho. He then shared his experience of independently making his upcoming film Salaam-E-Ishq.

The event also saw the screening of a short film called Shanu Taxi by an upcoming director Vasant Nath. Later the director and the cast along with Nikhil Advani had an interesting one-to-one session with the audience.

The entire event saw some amazing mix of mainstream Bollywood director who has been there and done that and a budding new face who is all set to step into the world of Bollywood , which made the event a great success for the upcoming young aspirants of cinema.
