By IndiaFM News Bureau, January 13, 2007 - 09:56 IST

Bong babe Sushmita Sen has gotten herself into a legal muddle! A Madurai-based advocate has filed a criminal complaint against the ex-miss Universe for her alleged remarks on chastity.

Reportedly, the actress made some explicit remarks on chastity in an interview in South India. She was captured saying that, “chastity has no meaning in the current period, and it applies to both men and women”. This interview was telecast on all major channels on November 6th 2006. It was also published the very next day in a Tamil daily.

Advocate S Greesh Kumar said that the remarks made by Sush were “sweeping in nature, and directed towards all Indians.” Adding to this, he said that Sushmita Sen is a person of universal appeal and also a popular celebrity. Taking that into consideration, her words impact the young society to a great extent. Therefore such remarks are illegal, unfortunate, and liable to be dealt with as per the law.

The complaint has already taken action under the Indian Penal Code and Indecent Representation of Women Act. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for February 23rd 2007. Sushmita, who will now be seen in Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay, will now have to find time to deal with this indictment.
