Bhansali to direct Opera in Paris

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the few filmmakers from around the world who has been invited to direct an opera at Paris. The opera company Theatre du Chatelet has invited Bhansali to direct the opus based on the script written by a French writer from1920’s.
Bhansali feels honored by getting such an offer. Though flattered, Sanjay was unsure whether he would take up the offer as stage is a completely different medium altogether. But he is glad that he has agreed to do it. As far as his films go, Bhansali says that his movie schedules won’t get affected by this. He will be in Paris between January to March of 2008. When the opera goes on stage in March, he’ll return back.
Currently, Bhansali is working on Saawariya starring debutants Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. The film also stars Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee.
