Shah Rukh Khan's mega Christmas release Zero has opened fairly well across the country. Released across 4380 screens in domestic markets, despite the drop in temperatures, Zero has opened really well in North centres. It has got about 50 per cent plus occupancy almost everywhere. There are areas, especially in Rajasthan and North, where the film is playing to nearly packed houses in the morning shows.
ZERO had got average advance on the account of bookings opening late in many centres. It is expected to clock Rs. 30 cr. on Day 1. The Zero makers have banked well on the holiday season which includes a bank holiday. This ensures a good opening to the film.
Apart from Zero, another movie, Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), is released in five languages. Primarily a South film, it does not have a pan India appeal. The occupancy for KGF is as low as 10 per cent. Most plexes have shows post noon for KGF. But having said this, the movie has a great scope in South and will pose a great competition to Zero.
