This week we see the release of two starkly different films, though both revolve around love stories, RAABTA deals with the topic of reincarnation while BEHEN HOGI TERI is a modern day take on the relationship status of neighbourhoods. But which of these two films will eventually emerge as the leader at the box office is the question.
Reports suggest that RAABTA that stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon has opened on an average note with a steady 15% occupancy rate during morning shows. In fact the film which releases across 1820 in India and another 330 screens in the overseas market boasts of good visuals, catchy music and a cracking chemistry between the lead pair. On the other hand BEHEN HOGI TERI that features Rajkumar Rao and Shruti Haasan and hits 757 screens has opened on a much slower note with occupancy rates between 5-10%. However, the leader of the pack is the Hollywood flick starring Tom Cruise THE MUMMY that releases across 1600 screens in multiple languages viz. English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu has opened to 25% occupancy.
On the whole, while THE MUMMY that enjoys a massive screen count will pick up over evening and night shows, RAABTA will have to rely heavily on positive reviews and good audience word of mouth to post decent weekend figures. On the other hand BEHEN HOGI TERI faces an uphill task at the box office this weekend.
