The Akshay Kumar film Sooryavanshi released a while back and has been roaring business since then. Directed by Rohit Shetty the film which was the first big ticket Bollywood entertainer to hit screens post the second lockdown managed to entice audience to venture into theatres in droves. Now in its third week running Sooryavanshi has managed to rake in a further Rs. 18.68 cr.
In this box office report we take a look at the third week collections of Sooryavanshi while comparing the same to Akshay Kumar’s previous releases that have made it to their third week in theatres. Collecting Rs. 18.68 cr, Sooryavanshi has become Akshay Kumar’s all-time highest Week 3 grosser surpassing his previous releases by a wide margin. In fact, the business of Sooryavanshi in week 3 has overshadowed Akshay’s other films like Good Newwz that collected Rs. 15.74 cr, Mission Mangal that collected Rs. 15.03 cr, Housefull 4 that collected Rs. 13.06 cr, Airlift that collected Rs. 11.97 cr, Kesari that collected Rs. 11.69 cr, 2.0 that collected Rs. 9.31 cr, Jolly LLB 2 that collected Rs. 8.52 cr, Rustom that collected Rs. 7.71 cr, and Toilet - Ek Prem Katha that collected Rs. 7.20 cr.
While Sooryavanshi still continues to run the film faces still competition this week with two new releases viz. the John Abraham starrer Satyameva Jayate 2 and the Salman Khan – Aayush Sharma starrer Antim – The Final Truth hitting screens. Though the business of Sooryavanshi is certain to take a drastic hit, it will continue to run but at a much diminished rate.
