The Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi released a while back and since then the Rohit Shetty film has been doing well at the box office. After opening on a high note the business of the film continued to see immense growth over its run in theatres. Being the first big ticket Bollywood film to hit screens post the second lockdown Sooryavanshi bore the burden of the entire industry’s hopes. Now on its fourth weekend running the Akshay Kumar starrer has still managed to hold its own despite new releases hitting screens.
In this box office report we take a look at the fourth weekend collections of Sooryavanshi while comparing the same to Akshay Kumar’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 4.19 cr Sooryavanshi has managed to become Akshay Kumar’s second all-time highest fourth weekend grosser. Interestingly, the business of Sooryavanshi has managed to to surpass the business of the actor’s previous releases like Good Newwz that collected Rs. 4.04 cr, Kesari that collected Rs. 3.70 cr, Housefull 4 that collected Rs. 2.55 cr, and Rustom that had collected Rs. 1.37 cr. However, Mission Managal that collected Rs. 4.23 cr on its fourth weekend running still retains its spot as the actor’s highest fourth weekend grosser.
Currently, still running in theatres, but at a much diminished rate, the business of Sooryavanshi that has collected Rs. 187.05 cr till date is inching closer to the Rs. 200 cr mark. Given the current business trend of the film, it seems more than likely to cross this mark in the coming days.
