Kartik Aaryan’s commercial entertainer, Shehzada has taken a slow start at the box office as according to early estimates, the movie has collected in the range of Rs. 6.50 crores to Rs. 7.25 crores on its opening day. The best faring centre for Shehzada was Delhi, followed by Mumbai, but surprisingly the mass centres did not come on board at the expected capacity.
The three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – collected approximately Rs. 3.60 crores on the opening day, with non-national chains putting up collections in the range of Rs. 3.25 crores. The opening day business was also boosted by the buy one get one free offer and it was a last-minute master stroke from the marketing brain of Kartik Aaryan and Bhushan Kumar to amplify the business.
Tomorrow is a holiday on the account of Maha Shivratri and it’s crucial for Shehzada to show big gains on Saturday and then consolidate further on Sunday to have a chance in the long run. The opening of Shehzada is in the same range as Bhediya, Ek Villain Returns, but it can make up for the shortfall on the opening day if the audience talk in the long run comes out positive.
