The SS Rajamouli directed film, RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR with special appearances from Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn released a while back. Being Rajamouli’s first directorial post the epic Baahubali saga, expectations from the film were at an all-time high. Living up to the expectations RRR has been doing brisk business in theatres. Released across 8000 screens in multiple languages and formats the film has been raking in the moolah.
In this box office report, we look at the second-weekend collections of RRR while comparing the same to previous releases. Collecting Rs. 52 cr on weekend 2, RRR has become the seventh all-time highest second weekend grosser. In fact, the business of the film manages to surpass the collections of the previous releases like the Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai which collected Rs. 48.71 cr, the Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior that collected Rs. 48.54 cr, and the Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh collected Rs. 47.15 cr.
Currently, RRR continues to run in theatres, managing to draw in the audience despite the new release Attack – Part 1 hitting screens. Going forward, trade predicts an optimistic view claiming that the film, which has collected a total of Rs. 184.59 cr will soon cross the Rs. 200 cr mark in the coming days.
