The Janhvi Kapoor – Rakummar Rao starrer Roohi released last week to mixed response from the audience. However, despite the Covid-19 pandemic scare, audience have begun visiting theatres. After opening on a good note, the business of Roohi, saw a slight dip in collections on its second day, but over its opening weekend the collections of the film witnessed a spurt in business. In this box office report we take a look at the Opening weekend collections of Roohi while comparing the same to Janhvi Kapoor’s previous release.Collecting Rs. 12.58 cr over its extended opening weekend Roohi has not managed to surpass the collections of Janhvi’s previous releases Dhadak that had collected Rs. 33.67 cr. The fact that theatres have recently opened and audience are still reticent about thronging cinema houses has left a deep impact on the business of Roohi. This coupled with the fact that certain location have feature earlier shows with night curfew being imposed, while other locations have seen an all-out lockdown being re-instated due to the resurgence of the virus, the overall business of Roohi has been somewhat dampened.
In fact, trade experts state that given the current scenario Roohi has been performing as expected. Going forward all eyes are now on the film’s first Monday collections, with estimates stating that the business of Roohi will continue to grow over the week.
