Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is showing fantastic trending as second Friday has pretty much sealed the deal for it. Whatever doubts that were around the film to have an overall good box office run have been laid to rest, what with the numbers pretty much coming close to the Monday collections of Rs. 7.02 crores. The collections have reached Rs. 6.75 crores and that’s really good considering it’s the eighth day and the footfalls are primarily in major multiplexes at the urban centres.
What’s all the more remarkable is that the collections are almost double of what Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar had scored on its second Friday. That film had brought in Rs. 3.51 crores and here the numbers are really far ahead. Of course, the Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer had released on a Wednesday and hence had already enjoyed a bountiful extended weekend of 5 days. Hence the collections couldn’t really go on a big high in the second weekend. Still, the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer has been managing a very good consistency and will now end up getting into a double-digit score today and tomorrow as well, something which only Pathaan and The Kerala Story have enjoyed in 2023.
The Karan Johar film has now reached Rs. 80.08 crores and now Rs. 100 Crore Club celebrations would begin from Sunday night itself. As of now, a lifetime in excess of Rs. 135 crores is a given and if it manages to hold on from next Friday onwards too amidst Gadar 2 and OMG 2 then even Rs. 145-150 crores cannot be ruled out.
