The much-awaited Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh hit screens yesterday. After much talk and hype the film opened on a good note with audience in metros patronizing the film in droves. In fact, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kaahani opened on a much better than expected note.

Collecting Rs. 11.10 cr the film has emerged as Alia’s eighth highest opening day grosser. Though the film does not outperform her previous releases like Brahmastra - Part 1 which collected Rs. 36 cr, Kalank which collected Rs. 21.60 cr, RRR which collected Rs. 20.07 cr, Gully Boy which collected Rs. 19.40 cr, Shaandaar which collected Rs. 13.10 cr, 2 States which collected Rs. 12.42 cr, and Badrinathi Ki Dulhania which had collected Rs. 12.25 cr it does manage to surpass her other releases like Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 10.50 cr, and Udta Punjab which had collected Rs. 10.05 cr.
Currently, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani continues to run in theatres. In fact, based on the current trend expectations are that the business of the film will see further growth over its second and third day running. As per trade predictions Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani could see a further Rs. 14-15 cr coming in on its second day running.
