Even though Raja Shivaji is the most expensive Marathi film of all times, it’s not just recovering its budget but is now also on its way to make good profits. The kind of opening that the film took had given an indication that this one would be a clean success and now after a record breaking opening day, weekend and week, it has done well in the second weekend too.

On Friday, the film collected Rs. 3.50 crores and while that was decent, anything closer to Rs. 4 crores would have put it in an even better spot. However, that margin was covered quite well on Saturday when the film jumped huge to Rs. 6.30 crores. That pretty much set the game for the film as Sunday was even better at Rs. 7.60 crores with family audiences frequenting the Marathi version turning up in very good numbers. As a result, the second weekend came to Rs. 17.40 crores and that’s quite good as anything over Rs. 15 crores would have brought the film in a very comfortable situation.
The Riteish Deshmukh led multi-starrer has now also crossed yet another major milestone, which is that of Rs. 75 crores. Currently standing at Rs. 75.10 crores, the film is now headed well towards a lifetime score of Rs. 100 crores. The 10-day total of the period historical action drama is quite impressive and with no major competition ahead, especially in the Marathi markets which is its target segment, this one will continue to rule for next few weeks.
